art gallery Since childhood, Pierre Schryer has had a keen interest and ability in visual art. Hans Devos, Lakeway High School Art teacher, was a major guide and influence in Pierre's life. Pierre's sensitivity to colour relationships and spatial dynamics made him a skillful artist during his high school years. Inspired by nature and people, Pierre created watercolours, sketches, murals, and clay figures. His monochrome watercolour assignment entitled "Mother and her Child," was recognized as an outstanding piece. In 1987, Pierre was asked by the school to create a yearbook cover for its special commemorative issue for the final year of Lakeway before its closure. The year was also a highlight for Pierre with the honorary title of valedictorian.
