Pierre Schryer / mélange
(New Canadian Records 2008)

Joined by a myriad of musical friends from all over North America and beyond, this
novel recording is dedicated exclusively to new compositions from Pierre and several of his
cohorts.

An eclectic tapestry of sound and place, this album weaves a musical journey across the North
American continent - from the icebergs of Newfoundland, through the folkways of Québec, from
the shores of Lake Huron to the high rocky slopes of British Columbia.

Pierre Schryer Band / Blue Drag(New Canadian Records 2003)

Pierre Schryer Band brings the wide world of fiddling (song and dance) together on Blue Drag. There's some blue notes, but it's no drag! Pierre's tone is full and rich and his groove is deep, leading the band expertly on each selection. This cd is made of joy and drive and real fine playing.

Pierre Schryer & Ian Clark / Heat of the Moment(New Canadian Records 2002)

Heat of the Moment shows what can happen when two superbly skilled and creative musicians are let loose on a stage and allowed to feed off each other's playing. The result is a wonderfully uninhibited, spontaneous and joyful conversation between fiddle and guitar. In an age when so much music is played and recorded to a cold, predictable formula, Pierre and Ian's playing breaks the rules, steams up the kitchen, and stirs the blood. It's a gem of a recording.

"Two master musicians - Pierre Schryer of Canada and Dermot Byrne of Ireland's Altan - create a tantalizing transatlantic link between their respective traditions. This is fiddle and accordion music of breathtaking diversity and dexterity."

Pierre Schryer / The New Canadian Waltz(New Canadian Records - 1996)

"The New Canadian Waltz" is a solo album and was recorded live in December 1995. His music has Canadian and Irish influences and he discovers some rare lesser known tunes like "Le reve du Queteux Tremblay" and "That's Right Too" from Chicagoen Liz Carroll. Canadian fiddle music is rich in life and dynamism and Pierre Schryer's music personifies all that is good about the Franco-Canadian tradition. A stunning command of technique yet his feet strictly in the ethnic roots allows for music that is accomplished yet not devoid of spirit or life. ... A SHOT OR TWO OF "THE NEW CANADIAN WALTZ" is like good medicine. Thoroughly recommended!".

The Gathering / Various Artists(Real World CAROL 2361 - 1997)

This live disc, recorded at a 1995 festival in Cork, Ireland documents an all-star gathering of Celtic instrumentalists from three continents. The format is solo, duo, and trio performances of mostly traditional tune sets, with each artist appearing on one or two tracks. Among the 17 contributors are fiddlers Alisdair Fraser from Scotland, Martin Hayes from Ireland, and Pierre Schryer from Ontario, accordionists Joe Derrane from the U.S., Andy Cutting and Karen Tweed from England, Raynald Quellet from Quebec, and pipers Hamish Moore from Scotland and Kathryn Tickell from Northumbria. Brittany and Galicia are represented too, and even New Zealand in the person of harmonica ace Brendan Power. The talent level is consistently brilliant and the result is a rich and varied audio encyclopedia of today's living traditions.

This legacy to Canadian fiddle champions Graham and Eleanor Townsend, represents the growth and evolution of  Canadian Old-Time fiddling throughout the late 1900's.
